Unbelievable Dalat Inn Homestay: Your Dream Dalat Getaway Awaits!
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because Unbelievable Dalat Inn Homestay – or at least, that’s supposed to be the name of this place – is about to get the brutally honest, slightly unhinged, and totally unfiltered treatment. You know, the kind of review you actually want to read before dropping your hard-earned cash on a trip. So, here we go…
Accessibility: A Mixed Bag (Like My Life, Honestly)
Okay, accessibility is always a crapshoot, right? The official spiel says “Facilities for disabled guests.” Which, technically, is true. There are elevators, and I saw a ramp somewhere. But is it perfectly wheelchair accessible everywhere? I can’t say for sure. I didn't exactly need to use it myself. Let’s just say, if you're relying heavily on accessibility, it's worth a REALLY detailed phone call to clarify. Don't just assume! And if you do go, let me know how it goes!
On-site Accessible Restaurants/Lounges: Hmm…
Again, I'm playing the guessing game here. I saw a bar, and I saw a restaurant. Were they designed for folks with mobility issues? I honestly didn't pay that kind of attention. This is where the hotel really needs to step up and provide clear info, people!
Internet Access (Free Wi-Fi in All Rooms!): Praise the Wi-Fi Gods!
Okay, this is a HUGE win. Free Wi-Fi, everywhere! And it actually WORKED. I didn't have to chase the signal like a digital ghost. I was able to actually get some work done (between, you know, all the relaxing and eating). There was even gasp Internet [LAN] listed. Did anyone actually use that? Who knows! But the Wi-Fi was a life-saver. I live for the Internet.
Things to Do, Ways to Relax: Blissful Overload!
Alright, this is where Unbelievable Dalat Inn kind of delivers on the promise in its name. It's a SPA/sauna kinda place. You can get everything from a Body scrub to a full body Body wrap. There’s a Pool with a view – and it's actually pretty darn gorgeous. It’s an outdoor swimming pool, so the views are great when the weather is great. I mean, there’s a Sauna, a Steamroom, a Fitness center! I tried the sauna, thought I’d die, and swore off exercise for the rest of my trip. But hey, the option was there. They have a " Foot bath. What is that? I didn't even know that was a thing. Massage? Got one. Absolutely divine. Maybe the best part of my trip. Okay, it was the best part. I felt like a melted marshmallow afterward. I might have even drooled a little. The Spa itself was lovely, clean, and smelled amazing. Definitely worth the splurge. Honestly, the spa alone made the whole trip worthwhile.
Cleanliness and Safety: Feeling Safe, Despite Myself
Okay, I'm a bit of a germaphobe, so this section is important. And, THANKFULLY, my paranoid little heart was at ease. They have Anti-viral cleaning products. They did Daily disinfection in common areas. The rooms were Rooms sanitized between stays. Hygiene certification. It was all very reassuring. Hand sanitizer everywhere. Staff trained in safety protocol. My biggest fear, dying from a dust bunny, didn’t materialize. They even had Doctor/nurse on call. Plus, they had First aid kit, should you need it! They even have a Safe dining setup, which, if I'm honest, made me miss my normal, slightly dirtier, dining experiences. But I wasn’t risking any bugs.
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking: A Culinary Adventure (Mostly)
The Asian cuisine in restaurant was great, but they also offered International cuisine in restaurant, so it was great. The Breakfast [buffet] was massive. Pancakes, eggs, fruit, the works. Western breakfast was also available. I tried them all, obviously. Fuelled by my diet of food, I went to the Coffee shop, and had Coffee/tea in restaurant. Yes, they had a Bar, and a Poolside bar. I am a bit of a messy eater, and they had Salad in restaurant and Soup in restaurant, which had me covered. To top it off, they had Desserts in restaurant and a Snack bar. It was fantastic.
Services and Conveniences: They Thought of Almost Everything
Air conditioning in public area? Check. Concierge? Yep. Currency exchange? Indeed. Daily housekeeping? Thank the heavens. Dry cleaning? Necessary after my spa-induced meltdowns. Ironing service? Essential. Seriously, they had everything. Laundry service? Did not have to do any laundry. That’s a win. There were a ton of Facilities for disabled guests. They could arrange Food delivery. They have a Gift/souvenir shop, because, well, everyone likes souvenirs. They even had a Safety deposit box, but I was feeling so safe that I didn’t bother using it. They are also an Hotel chain, so I felt more confident booking. There was even a Cash withdrawal, in case you needed cash. Contactless check-in/out was handy. One of the best things: Free Car park [on-site]
For the Kids: Family Fun?
I didn't have any kids with me, but they seemed pretty well catered for. They had Babysitting service. Family/child friendly rooms and facilities. They have Kids facilities and a Kids meal option. The biggest problem for kids would be making sure they can get to the pool.
Available in All Rooms: The Little Things That Matter
The rooms? Super comfy. Okay, this is where I'm going to get really specific. I'm picky! They had Air conditioning, which is a must in Dalat! The Desk was a godsend for working. Alarm clock – useful when you’re trying to wake up for a massage. Bathrobes – fluffy, perfect. Blackout curtains – essential for sleeping in. Coffee/tea maker – because caffeine is life. Daily housekeeping – thank you, angels. Free bottled water – always appreciated. Hair dryer – a necessity. In-room safe box – used it! Ironing facilities – needed those! Mini bar – stocked (maybe a little expensive, though). Non-smoking (thank goodness). Private bathroom – no shared bathrooms here! Refrigerator – ideal for chilling the aforementioned beverages. Separate shower/bathtub – perfect. Slippers – super comfy. Smoke detector – reassuring. Sofa – nice for lounging. Telephone – essential for room service. Wi-Fi [free] – praise the Wi-Fi gods again! I can't stress enough how much I relied on the Wi-Fi. I had to catch up on a ton of work and it was great.
Getting Around: Easy Peasy
They had Airport transfer, which I definitely recommend. Car park [free of charge] on-site, which is always a bonus. They even have Taxi service. I did not used the Valet parking and probably wouldn't, but it's there.
The Real Deal: My Unvarnished Opinion
Look, Unbelievable Dalat Inn isn't perfect. No place is. But it's damn good. The spa is to die for. The service is excellent. The location is pretty good. It's clean, safe, and comfortable. Is it “Unbelievable”? Well, maybe that's a little hyperbolic. But for the price, and all of the amenities? Pretty darn close.
The Quirks I Loved (and the Minor Annoyances)
- The little welcome note. It was a nice touch, even though I’m a cynical jerk at heart.
- The staff. Seriously, they were all lovely. Always smiling, always helpful.
- The breakfast buffet. It was amazing and made me feel like royalty.
- Things I didn’t like: I wish the gym was a bit bigger, and it could be tough to get a spot by the pool!

Escape to Nirvana: Uncover Thailand's Hidden Nan House Paradise
Alright, here's my attempt at a Dalat Inn Homestay itinerary, the messy and honest version. Buckle up, buttercups. This isn't your perfectly curated Instagram feed; this is real life, with questionable coffee and a perpetually runny nose.
Day 1: Arrival and the Promise of Purple (and Probably Panic)
- 3:00 AM: Ugh. Seriously. The alarm. Why do I do this to myself? Get up early. (Why?!) I am so sure that I will miss the flight.
- 6:00 AM: Finally, at the airport. I am still so tired.
- 10:00 AM: Arrive in Da Lat Airport. Everything is fine. I think. Breathe. A bit of a delay, Vietnamese airlines are always a bit iffy. But fine.
- 11:00 AM: Taxi to Dalat Inn Homestay. Okay, this scenic ride. Everything is so vibrant. Such a contrast to grey London, I think.
- 12:00 PM: Check-in and a quick snoop around the homestay. Ooh, it's cute, a bit too cute. The room's tiny, but it has a balcony with a view of… well, a giant, slightly overgrown garden. The air is crisp, but not in that sterile, over-air-conditioned way. It's… alive. And a lot of purple flowers. Dalat and I can tell this will work.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch at a street vendor down the road. Managed to point at things and use my limited Vietnamese vocabulary. Successfully procured Banh Mi and some pho. It was amazing… and a bit spicy. My nose is running. Is this the altitude? The food? Or just my general state of being?
- 2:00 PM: Attempted nap. Failed. Too much excitement, probably too much coffee (the Vietnamese coffee is STRONG, people!). The sounds of scooters and the general hustle and bustle of Dalat seeped into the room. Found myself just staring out the window, watching a cat chase a butterfly. Suddenly, I'm struck by the idea of having a dog.
- 4:00 PM: Wandered the city centre. The market. Oh, the market! Sensory overload in the best way possible. So many people, so many colours, the fragrance of flowers, the aroma of food, the sheer business of everything! I bought a ridiculously large hat – I'll probably regret it later, but at this moment it feels like a necessity.
- 6:00 PM: Dinner at a small restaurant recommended in my Lonely Planet. Found myself sharing a table with a couple from Germany, who were way better at speaking the local language. Good people.
- 7:30 PM: Back at the homestay. I'm pooped. Planning to write some postcards but instead passed out watching the ceiling.
Day 2: Crazy House and Crazed Thoughts
- 8:00 AM: Woken up by… a rooster. Actually, several roosters. They’re in a competition of some sort. Coffee is essential. Strong coffee.
- 9:00 AM: Crazy House. Okay, this place… this place is nuts. It's like Gaudí and Dr. Seuss got together after a particularly intense mushroom trip. I'm pretty sure I got lost at least three times. The sheer imagination of it all is overwhelming. Found myself wanting to live inside.
- 11:00 AM: THE DALA VALLEY Seriously, it's everything you've heard and then some. It's the perfect.
- 12:00 PM: The valley. It's so peaceful. The air smells like pine needles and damp earth. I just sat there, watching the sun rise (a bit more sleep after the early wake up in the morning..). I seriously contemplated just not leaving this place.
- 2:00 PM: Lunch at a small cafe near the valley. I think I had some of the best avocado toast of my life.
- 3:00 PM: Back to the city. I am ready for more sightseeing but I am really worn out.
- 4:00 PM: Another street food adventure. I tried some banh xeo, which is sort of like a savoury crepe. It’s great, but I feel like I had too much.
- 6:00 PM: Wandered the city centre again. The street food vendors are setting up. I want everything and everything.
- 7:30 PM: Late-night chat with the homestay owner. She's lovely, and she gave me advice for travelling around.
Day 3: Waterfalls, Waterworks, and the End (Maybe a Little Early?)
- 8:00 AM: Coffee (duh) and try to figure out how to get to the Datanla Waterfall. Turns out, very easy. I'm still surprised I got out of the homestay without issue.
- 9:00 AM: The Datanla Waterfall. The walk. The beautiful waterfall. The roller coaster, which seemed like a very bad idea but was actually fun. I've never been on a roller coaster through a waterfall.
- 12:00 PM Lunch. I will be honest I am a bit tired.
- 1:00 PM: My brain and body is done. I think I am done. I tried to do something else but I couldn't. Time to go (a little to early :((( )
- 2:00 PM: Check out. And the goodbye.
- 3:00 PM: taxi to the airport.
Final Thoughts:
Dalat Inn Homestay and Dalat were pretty cool. I learned a lot. I definitely should have stayed a few more days. I missed the bus though.. I am going to miss this place.
